Sawmills across British Columbia and Quebec use tubular sleeves to wrap dimensional lumber bundles coming off the stacking line. The sleeve slides over the bundle in seconds, and both ends are folded and secured. This protects finished lumber from rain, UV fade, and surface dirt during yard storage — preserving grade and customer satisfaction.
Lumber destined for overseas markets must survive weeks of exposure to salt spray, rain, and humidity during ocean transit. Tubular sleeves with lamination provide a continuous moisture barrier on all four sides of the bundle, protecting high-value wood products from staining, mould, and dimensional change caused by moisture absorption.
Lumber yards and building supply dealers store inventory outdoors for weeks or months. Tubular sleeves with UV stabilization shield bundles from sun bleaching, rain penetration, and debris accumulation, keeping product clean and sellable without the cost of covered storage.

Learn More →The sleeve is pulled over one end of the lumber bundle, slid into position to cover the full length, then the open ends are folded and secured with strapping or staples. Many sawmills use automated or semi-automated sleeving equipment to speed up the process on the production line.
The flat width of the tubular sleeve should equal half the perimeter of your bundle cross-section, plus 5–10cm for ease of application. For example, a bundle measuring 40cm wide × 40cm tall has a perimeter of 160cm, so the flat width would be approximately 85–90cm. Contact us with your bundle dimensions and we will recommend the correct size.
Laminated sleeves add a thin PP or PE film layer that improves moisture resistance and makes the fabric more opaque. Choose laminated for export shipping, long-term outdoor storage, or when protecting premium grades. Unlaminated is sufficient for short-term yard storage and domestic transport where some breathability is acceptable.
Yes. We offer up to 6-colour flexographic printing on tubular sleeves, including company logos, product specifications, handling instructions, and grade identification. Printed sleeves help with brand visibility at job sites and retail lumber yards.
