Industry Solutions
CFIA-compliant, food-safe woven bags for Canadian mills, grain handlers, food processors, and specialty food producers.
The food and grain industry operates under some of the most stringent packaging requirements of any sector. In Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) governs food contact materials, and internationally sold products must additionally comply with FDA and EU food safety standards. Beyond regulatory compliance, food and grain packaging must protect product quality across a supply chain that often spans weeks or months — from mill to warehouse to distributor to retail shelf. Moisture, pests, contamination, and UV degradation all represent real threats to product integrity, and a packaging failure can result in product recalls, retailer chargebacks, and damage to brand reputation that is difficult to recover from.
Sackora's food-grade woven polypropylene bags are manufactured from virgin PP resin — no recycled content in food-contact layers — and are produced in facilities operating to ISO 22000 food safety management standards. Our bags comply with CFIA food contact regulations and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520, making them suitable for flour, rice, sugar, wheat, and specialty food products sold in Canadian and US markets. Optional polyethylene inner liners provide an additional moisture and contamination barrier for products with tight moisture tolerance, and BOPP lamination delivers the premium print quality required for retail-facing SKUs.
We serve flour mills, rice processors, sugar refiners, grain elevators, food distributors, and specialty food producers across Canada and the United States. Our food packaging team understands the seasonality and volume variability of food and grain operations, and we work with procurement teams to plan inventory and production runs that match your packing line schedules and minimize the risk of packaging shortages during peak production periods.

View ProductYes. All Sackora food-grade PP woven bags are manufactured from virgin polypropylene resin in ISO 22000 certified facilities and comply with CFIA food contact material regulations and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520. Certificates of compliance and material safety documentation are provided with every order to support your food safety management system and customer audit requirements.
An unlined woven PP bag allows some degree of moisture vapor transmission through the weave. For dry food products with tight moisture specifications — such as flour, sugar, or powdered food ingredients — a polyethylene inner liner creates a complete moisture and contamination barrier, significantly extending shelf life and reducing the risk of moisture-related quality failures. We recommend PE inner liners for products with moisture content specifications below 14% or for products with extended shelf life requirements.
Yes. Our BOPP laminated PP woven bags provide a premium print surface suitable for photo-quality retail packaging. Many of our food customers use BOPP-laminated bags for rice, flour, and specialty grains sold through retail grocery, warehouse club, and ethnic food retail channels. We can match your brand colour requirements and incorporate UPC codes, bilingual product information, and regulatory compliance text in the print artwork.
Yes. Heavy food bags — particularly 25 kg and 50 kg flour, sugar, and grain bags — are prone to pallet shift during transport, which creates safety hazards and product damage. We offer anti-slip surface treatment on the exterior of food-grade bags, significantly reducing slip without affecting food safety or print quality. This is strongly recommended for customers shipping full-pallet loads of heavy bags by LTL or truckload freight.
